In 2019 three Year 9 students set about to create a St John Fisher Bursary to make an education at the College available for students whose families are experiencing financial hardship. To make this bursary a sustainable one, the fund balance needs to sit at $50,000 and every dollar counts. Your small act could make a big impact for generations to come.
Girls’ education goes beyond academics and opportunity, it is about ensuring girls feel safe and empowered to make decisions about their own lives. Girls face many more barriers to education than their male counterparts with women making up more than two-thirds of the world’s 796 million illiterate people. Through this bursary, we can offer a child a better life, a better future and the opportunity to change their circumstances with the power of knowledge and education.
